VITEK/API Identification System

VITEK 2 Compact automatic microbial analysis system through the determination of bacterial carbon source utilization, nitrogen source utilization, enzyme production activity and antimicrobial susceptibility and other biochemical characteristics, to achieve rapid identification and analysis of microbial strains, with a high degree of automation, identification speed, easy operation, good biological safety and other characteristics. VITEK 2 Compact System Identification Test Card includes 7 series, according to the type of bacteria, to select different identification cards, and can complete the identification of microbial strains within 4-15 hours. Currently, the VITEK identification database of microbial strains includes more than 500 species.

The API physiological and biochemical identification system is an identification system based on the traditional physiological and biochemical theory of microorganisms, which is micro-quantified and standardized based on numerical classification and analysis of bacteria. The identification system can select the appropriate physiological and biochemical identification series according to the group of bacteria, transform and analyze the results of various biochemical and metabolic reactions of the bacteria to be measured through the software and compare with the corresponding database, so as to obtain the identification results of unknown bacteria. The API Physiological and Biochemical identification system contains 15 identification series with approximately 1000 biochemical reactions, and has been able to identify more than 600 species of bacteria.
