CICC Introduction

     China Center of Industrial Culture Collection (CICC) is now affiliated to China National Research Institute of Food & Fermentation Industries Corporation Limited of Poly Sinolight Corporation. CICC was founded in 1930, and formerly known as the Brewing Laboratory of the Chemical Group of the Central Industrial Experimentation Institute. In 1979, CICC was approved by the State Scientific and Technological Commission to set up a national industrial culture collection, and in 2019, CICC was recognized as the industrial microorganism sub-center of the National Microbiology Resource Center of China. CICC is mainly responsible for the collection, preservation, sharing, identification, evaluation, import/export, research and development as well as training of the industrial microbial resources.



     CICC carries out various microbial resources conservation of more than 13,000 strains such as bacteria, yeasts, filamentous fungi and phages, scientific research strains, production strains, standard cultures, bio-indicators and other products, which are widely used in the fields of food fermentation, biochemical industry, health industry, quality control and environmental monitoring, etc. The microbial resources and products have been accredited by ISO 9001 and ISO 17034.


CICC has established a systematic technical service platform for microbial strain identification and traceability analysis, new species identification, safety evaluation, functional evaluation and method validation, providing one-stop technical services, including more than 230 services for product declaration, product import and export, product certification and accreditation, quality control, scientific research outsourcing in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, feed and home appliance industries, etc. Technical services have been accredited to ISO 17025 and CMA, and testing data have gained international mutual recognition.


CICC dedicated to fuel high quality development in the industrial field, with the five main research directions: Research on the Construction, Operation, and Sharing Service of National Microbial Resource Center, Accurate Identification and Evaluation Technology Research for Microorganisms, Research on Key Technologies for the Creation of Standard Strains and Standard Samples, Exploration and Evaluation Research on Microbial Strain Resources in Traditional Fermented Foods, Research on Induced Mutagenesis and Molecular Breeding of Microbial Strains in Food.
